Hi everybody so I have a new tank for my 2001 bullet 500 ,,,, not sure what year it's from but my fuel tap does not fit . I may need one with a female end,,unless the mail coming out of the tank is removable ???, it looks like it may can come out with vice grips because has no nut ,,it's just round then the threads..
Is the male coming out the tank removable??? Or do I need some sort of adaptor, if so what should I use?

My BMW (RT) tank has female threads, I thought it was just the Germans coming over all over-engineering as they are inclined to do. Looking at the picture (it is a bit blurry so I'm not sure on this,) but does the boss have an internal hexagon? Perhaps for an Allen key? And can I just see an edge above the base of the tank? If it is it may be a female to female adaptor (no sniggering at the back please.)
