Hello

I'm a newbe to this forum and really need help in identifying the correct parts catalogue for my bike.

The bike in question is a 2007 Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350cc 5 speed.
It was imported new, directly from India by a friend of mine who has since passed away.
I have a few parts that need to be replaced as the cold weather has not done the bike any favour's.
Carburettor has a couple of screws missing and several of the hose's are perished.

Can anybody tell me which part's catalogue is the one i need for my bike ?
I'm a bit confused by the different names in the Bullet range. Electra, Thunderbird etc
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Just to get things started, have a look at the first pages of the 2012 catalogue where you will see pictures and descriptions of engines to identify whether you have a classic engine, the 65 electric start/5-speed classic engine or the later Electra X 5 speed left side gearchange engine...at 2007 I would assume you have an Electra X based engine, but you never know.....the pics should help though.

Hello there 2stageturbo }----I hope your "name" doesn't reflect your Enfield aspirations ?? You're in for a disappointment I suspect. Only joking !! Is this the bike you have ?? }----- http://www.totalmotorcycle.com/photos/2 ... -------I'm also of the opinion that it's an Electra-based engine BUT they never officially imported the 350 version into this country, BUT-- I did see one of these sell on E-bay a month or so ago. Is your bike registered, import paid etc ? Why not give our hosts a simple phone call ?? They don't bite (much) and are very helpful---- Best of luck

There is a 350 home-market (India) Bullet called an "Electra" shown on You Tube, which has the Classic iron engine, but a primary case similar to the "Lean-burn" Electra we are familiar with over here. If you type "My Royal Enfield 350 Electra" into YouTube you will see one. I have also seen clips of these with a disc front end, but still with the 350 classic engine.

Many thanks for the replies guys..
I had a look at the catalogue Alex. After taking a look at my bike, im pretty sure its the Leanburn engine (Electra x5 speed electric start). It's also left side gear change. Going by the catalogue pictures, it seems to be that engine. Alan R - thanks for posting your link, i'm almost 100% sure that's the exact same bike as mine... Can i take it that the leanburn engine in the Electra and the leanburn engine in the Thunderbird (Alan R's link) are the same ? Sorry guys i hope i'm explaining myself clearly !! You can probably tell i'm still confused by this range of bike and model variant's within it. One other thing i should clarify , the bike was bought brand new in India by my friend , he then drove it across Asia on a road trip before sending it back to Dublin (Ireland) Which is where is now. Yes it has front disc brakes Barry N !

I've had a poke about the interwebs and my hard drive and it appears you have an early 350 Thunderbird. The only difference (as far as you're concerned) is the engine. The early Thunderbirds used a 350cc AVL lump, while the later ones used the UCE. The only other bike that I know of that used the 350cc AVL was the 350 Machismo. A majority of parts are common to both the 350 and 500cc AVL engines. I've crossed referenced the Machismo parts catalogue with the Electra X and it appears that the parts you require share the same part numbers. Sadly, I only have the parts catalogue for the UCE engined Thunderbird.

2stageturbo.. &.. Barry_Q....
................................
I have Been chasing this very Problem but from The 350 Machismo's Point of View!..Common thought is same 350AVL Engine. Hitchcocks answer to my INFO Question is to buy Manual 17 (On Offer £10 Thunderbird)
..Quote: Yes “MAN17” should cover this model reasonably well.........
They is No online List though being an Enfield Many Parts are Used across Different Models....
.....Q: "Any One Know What The Difference is Between the AVL And LEANBURN? (Or AVL V Electra)...
Cheers All...Craig...................
