My Electra EFI handbook states 15/50 semi synthetic is the grade to use, while I note our hosts sell 15/50 fully synthetic.
I've also noticed that 15/40 semi synthetic is available off-the shelf in local stores at a very competitive price.
Has anyone any experience of using these different oils?

I assume the EFI models do not have separate chaincase oil? If so, you need a motorcycle oil.

My EFI handbook states- 15w50 API SL JASO MA ester semi synthetic oil, Three things here - the 15 and the 50 are temperature ratings, the API SL ect is specification, the ester part relates to an oil which can operate at very high temperatures, Ester lubricants are used in jet engines because of this, synthetic lubricants are better than semi synthetic lubricants in they will go longer between oil changes, 15w 40 semi synthetic oil is ok as long as its for air cooled motor cycle engines with combined gearbox clutch set up.
