hi can anyone tell me if 1965 turbo twin is positive or negative earth please .

Good question, the Turbo Twin is an odd one because the engine is a self contained unit (with all the electrics it needs to run) inserted into the standard RE Clipper rolling chassis. So which bit is Villiers and which bit is Lucas/Enfield? I have a Villiers 4T instruction book somewhere. By the way a friend of mine had several of those electronic ignition kits fail on him and the customer service wasn't good so be warned!

As far as I recall, all British bikes of that era were Positive earth, at least all the ones I had were!

Hi guys------ yes, my memory from those days also says Positive Earth both on Motorcycles and in the Automotive world.....but maybe some imports at that time ( 1960's to early 70's ) were already Negative Earth ??...By the way I have no commercial interest in those electronic kits, just thought it might be of interest...........And for the Villiers fans out there, here's a little light reading }--------- http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~pattl ... rc0596.htm ---- enjoy !!

My 64 TT is positive earth.

Originally Positive "Earth" really Chassis Ground, but be careful, some would have been converted to Negative Earth over the years, like most English cars.
