COPPER OIL PIPES

I have recently purchased some copper oil pipes for my 2001 350, on which the banjo fittings as well as being smaller, also have a much smaller diameter hole, so I also had to purchase two brass nuts for each side, one of which is threaded both internally and extrenally, this fits into the cylyder head, the second ones are externally threaded nuts, these are then put through the banjo's and fastened into the internal thread of the other nut.

As yet I have not fitted, as I am little concerned that the smaller diameter, and also slightly smaller hole in the banjo's may not allow sufficient oil to be cirulated.

I would appreciate advice please.

Thank you.

David

Hi BLACKANDWHITEARMY, .......I'm too late to save you some £££'s I fear but your original pipes ARE copper.......On my last 2 Classic Bullet 500's they were and I've just this moment been into the Workshops and had a rub with some medium emery on the pipes on my current 2004 Bullet 65....Yep, under all that silver paint and lacquer are copper pipes.......... A rotary wire brush, emery cloth and giving Coronation Street a miss will result in a very "Old-World" look and well worth the effort I would say.....If you are looking to increase the overall diameter of the oilways for the rockers then don't forget to include an uprated oil pump set as well..........We are looking to increase the oil flow rate, especially in the area around the Exhaust valve and guide to improve heat transfer/ removal...

I think you might have got the pipes for the 500 which have smaller banjos.

Hi I have same setup on 94 bullet500, prefer this setup steel insert In head then small banjo bolts, with the bigger banjo bolts that screw into head if you overtighted chance of stripping thread in head alloy very soft use combo washers that host sells work a treat and dont need tightening up as much.

I have the smaller banjo bolts and they deliver a ton of oil. No problems at all.
