Anyone got a good contact for pre war Enfield parts? Just bought a 1932 model g special and need a +030 piston. Any help would be grateful...

The bore and stroke is the same as the later models - 70mm X 90mm - so its a fair bet that the piston might be the same ...

Wayne thanks for that, but I heed to know the gudgeon pin size for later type 350 bullets, also top of crown to centre of gudgeon pin measurements. The total height of the piston fitted at the moment is 58mm measure from crown to bottom of skirt, top of crown to centre of gudgeon pin measurement is 30mm..

Try John Harding, he has a lot of pre War Enfield pistons. Nice guy too. I don't have an email but you should be able to Google him. REgards, Mark

Be careful MARK.......remember our encounter with ARTHUR on here not so long ago regarding promulgating other retailers names etc ???...I had my wrists slapped good and proper..When my late friend Tim was alive he sourced a piston for his Model G from these folk}----- http://www.fwthornton.co.uk/ ........ Alan, l remember! However our Hosts haven't achieved domination of the pre War market so l think we'll be ok! Ebay currently has several suitable pistons. You may not get the oversize you want though because stock is low after 85 years! REgards, Mark

Cheers for links, The piston I am after is Hepolite part number 3132,or Wellworthy number 3620 looks like later Bullet pistons have a 3/4" gudgeon pin rather than 15.62mm one for this bike.

Just a thought --- if your existing piston is in reasonable shape ( That's using the English meaning, not our American friends one ) how about fitting your barrel with a liner ??
