after replacing a kickpawl within the inner cover of my '92 500cc bullet im having real real headaches putting back together my albion 4speed gearbox in a way that actually works.

when i removed the inner cover the layshaft pulled right out of place and that took me a longtime in the beggining to sit in place, im wondering can that be disturbed so much that something isnt sitting right now at the other end maybe that is causing my inability to get the gearbox working properly.

i mostly am now only getting one gear, it pretends to select different gears but they either nothing/no drive or something like a sludgy 3rd. Any tips? must have rebuilt it 20times this week and have replaced pretty much every spring and little part i can see that may have been worn out. thanks for all the help always.

my question here is it possible to fit the layshaft incorrectly, of the the couple of positions it slides in through the inner gearbox, and if it comes off too much does it mean maybe the bushing at the other end has gotten disturbed. would that give these symptoms?
