Hi Guys,

I'm looking for the torque setting of the six bolts that secure this adaptor to the front wheel hub. I know that I've seen it somewhere - and unless I've managed to repetedly miss it, I cannot see it listed in the torque settings sections in the workshop manual. Can anybody help as it's really bugging me.

Cheers, Retro

Hi Mauri,

Many thanks for that.

I did see that torque spec in my manual but assumed that it refered to the actual disc rotor fixing bolts, not to those fixing the adaptor to the wheel hub. As there is nothing else shown, perhaps it's the same torque for both sets, what do you think?

Hi Again Mauri,
I've been looking more closely at the Parts Diag's today. Now I can see that the ones in the Chassis Torque Specs called 'front disc mounting bolts' are actually the six that hold the adaptor on to the wheel hub. The six disc ones are Socket Button Heads and it appears that it's them that I'm looking for a torque setting for. As I previously asked; do you think they could be the same torque setting?

i torque both to this same figure.

but use medium loctite also, as this is a usual thing to do.

on more modern bikes these are given a torque between 1.5 and 2.0, so the 1.5 given will be sufficient.

Many thanks for the info Mauri, I'll follow it when I put my new disc rotor on. Strange that a torque setting is not included for these bolts in the manual - but it is R.E. that I'm talking about!

Cheers, R
