Hi all. I've got a 2005 cast iron bullet 500 and I've noticed that there is quite a large gap between the top of the rear tyre and the mudguard. I've also noticed that all similar aged bikes have that same huge gap (which I think looks terrible) does anyone what the easiest way is to lower the mudguard so it reduces that go? Thanks all!

I apologise, the auto correct on my phone and the band aid on my thumb decided turn my topic into an unintelligible mess. What I was getting at is: does anyone know the easiest/best way to lower the mudgaurd so it reduces that terrible looking gap? Thanks again!

If the mudguard is like mine, lowering it will result in the tyre rubbing on the wiring harness.
I would leave well enough alone and not create a problem where none exists.

You could buy and fit shorter rear suspension units, that would do it. Then of course other problems would be created.
Or you could just desist from the attempt to mend something that patently is not broken ;)

I know it's just "how it is" but with a solo saddle it just looks rubbish. Might have a play with the rear guard support frames and I'll post the results. How do I upload pics on the forum? Thanks -nick

I'd advise caution here. When the bike is off the centre stand and you're sitting on it, that 'gap' ain't there....

upload pics to tinypic or similar, and paste the HTML link here, NOT the message board link as it won't work. Try to make photos 800 pixels or less, otherwise forum goes all strange.

Exile said it for me so I will agree:
