Bullet 350 drive ratio

Hi all,
does anyone experienced a different drive ratio in the Bullet 350?
It always seemed to me it is too low and the RPMs are too high for the cruise speed.
So I thought I could add some teeth at the rear sprocket or subtract one or two at the countershaft, but I really don't know if it could decrase too much acceleration and power on climbs.
Does anybody made some trial in this sense?
In the Hitchcock's catalogue I saw that aren't bigger rear sprocket, so I think I have to act on the countershaft...
Thank you in advance and, as usual, please forgive my bad english!

Hi Simplo, I think you mean to gear up, in which case you want a bigger sprocket on the front, or [not possible on the standard rear wheel], a smaller one on the rear. However, I wouldn't do it on a machine with the engine in standard tune. I tuned my 350 considerably and it JUST manages top gear fairly comfortably with 17t on the front. Each to their own, though. Regards, Paul.

I tried this on my standard 350 once. I basically turned it into a three speed with an overdrive. It wasn't like that long😀

But the close ratio conversion is well worth it.

What are your local roads like, Simplo? Are you on the flat or up in the mountains? A.

Hi, Indian bullets are already geared high 5.2 compared to Redditch 5.76. Most British 350cc singles of the period were between 6 and 5.5 bear in mind that the 500 bullet is geared 5.0 and has more power to pull this gear. Vince.
