Afternoon all

At the risk of sounding daft is there any reason why I cant drop my standard 535 gt bars through the top yolk (removing it first !). I know I will have a poorer turning circle as a result but is it physically feasible - I cant see any reason why not ?

Cheers

The only problem I can think of is that you might get egg on your face... Sorry, couldn't resist, I'd better go for a ride!

Hmmm - works great but dropping the bars puts a strain on the front brake line which is now too long.

Don't like it so I put it back to standard.

I've do e it on mine, it looks better and the position isn't that much more extreme.
The only thing you have to be aware of is there is only one pinch bolt holding them in place as they are also secured on to the top yoke when in the original position. This could result in the bars moving. I haven't experienced this but I do keep my eye on the bolts and have put longer bolts through so I can put a nyloc locking nut on very tight without worrying about stripping the thread in the clamps. Mine have been like it all last year and this without issue but be aware of the danger!
