Hi All, small problem with pump covers on btm of timing case, pump cover would not seal this was on a new timing cover, tried double gaskets even a smear of gasket goo. Still leaking so dug out my old cover, pump covers twice the thickness of the new put old one on with old screws , bingo no leaks reckon thin covers were distorting would expect all to be same. By the way does anybody know the size and pitch of the nuts on the rear brake plate the ones that hold the cam bush to plate been told to take bush assy of clean paint off slight smear of grease and use locknuts but dont pull them up too tight so the bush can float slightly. This is on a 1994 bullet 500.

If you think about it, the bush is going to be in that position when the brake pedal is depressed; so it doesn`t need to be moving about. Get someone to depress the brake pedal, then tighten the nuts, job done.

Tightening the jam nuts won't prevent the bushing from sliding because the bolts are threaded into the bush flange.
The drum must be removed to access the bolt heads. It's a fiddly process to keep the bush in place while gaining access. After numerous attempts, I settled on slight lateral movement.
The flanges could be drilled but a loose nut would send the bolt into the drum.
