Hello all, anyone put a Bullet engine into a Crusader frame ? If so did you use Bullet rear engine plates or make your own. Thanks Richard

Richard, l'm afraid you have to make your own although l saw a neat hybrid which used modified Crusader ones to take the footrest bar and then a custom plate to join the Bullet crankcase/gearbox. You need spacers too. What are you planning?!

Hi Richard,
Here's one I built, although not a trials machine! - it has a twin sister somewhere, too. If you want more info, please feel free to get in touch. Regards, Paul. https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=GMzE6ZtahPk

Just to add to the above, you might want to skip the first 30 secs and the second time the bike is seen is around 1.10.

Paul, that link seems to go to the Google sign-in page although that might be my cack handed computer skills. Can you post the link to the video itself, I'd be interested to see your take on this. I have an idea to put a Meteor Minor engine in a (250) Continental GT frame and the rear engine/gearbox mounts pose the same problems as for a Bullet. I have looked at several converted bikes but unfortunately lost the photos so I was quoting from memory!

Thanks Paul, I'm sure I recognised those roads from that wet ride on the Interceptor Rally!

Paul sounds nice. Did you have to bend the frame down tube. When we built the Hitchcocks scrambles bike this tube was bent but don't really want to do this. Have just got a works rep engine and have a crusader frame so hopefully make a nice green laner. Richard

Andy Berry told me that if you're building a Trials Bullet in a 250 frame the thinking is to bend the front downtube for better weight distribution. If you're building a road bike you leave the front downtube alone and cut back the rear swing arm plates, you may have to move the swingarm pivot to do this. The frame I have has been modified like this.
