Hello All, I am a new Royal Enfield owner of a 2105 EFI Classic 500. I noticed yesterday while riding that I was having slight hesitation issues. This was a first since I've owned it. I happend in 2nd gear and above. Did not seem like an engine issue, more so either fuel or electrical short. Curious if the group would have any thoughts on this? Thanks so much.

Hi, this is quite common i believe. It used to happen on my 2010 classic as neutral throttle. mostly noticeable going round roundabouts. Have you got the original air filter and exhaust. if not you will probably need the power commander. if you are using original kit check that the air filter has a plastic cover over it inside the air box. Mine was missing (a common issue) once replaced this has mostly solved the problem. if all of this is ok and it is a recent issue check the rubber pipe between the air box and throttle housing as this can split.
good luck

Hi Jeff and welcome. If the hesitation is new it is unlikely to be to be EFI or ecu issues unless you have perhaps changed your riding style and just not noticed it before. Most modern bikes have that problem as a result of lean running for environmental reasons. The other cause may be early symptoms of battery or charging problems. When my reg/rect failed it was after quite a prolonged period of progressively worse misfiring, so that might be worth checking. Hope that helps.

If you can make it happen under light cruise simply by adding load to the electrical system the problem will be the battery. Either past its best or simply not receiving sufficient charge.

I presume you have a Delorian, or some other time machine, to have a 2105 bike? 😏🏍

Thank you all for the tips and will give them a go. Oh and if you think the 2015 Enfields are cool, just wait till you see the 2105's! 😉
