hi, can anyone help please ?
i have a 2016 Bullet 500 B5 and am fitting a Smiths electronic Tachometer, i have wired the positive and negative sides ok just stuck on the final wire... Smith state this has to go to the negative side of the coil. please can anyone help.. where is the coil ? how will i know where the wire goes? is there another wire /point i can use ? hopefully someone can help me. thank you. Garry

I had the same problem fitting a rev counter to my Electra X, I eventually found the coil buried between the two strengthening fillets on the headstock. (I connected the wire to negative terminal coming out of the igniter box to the coil, due to lack of space.)

On my bike under the seat, candy stripe wire, (But your bike may be different.)

To think, all these years, I never thought Royal Enfields ever reved enough to activate a Tachometer.

I fitted an electronic tachometer to my Royal Oilfield so I could set the tickover. In my opinion the workshop manual setting of 900rpm is ridiculously high, it is quite happy at 700-720rpm.

just count the lamp posts and multiply by five
