Will the Forks Bleed ?

Hi Gurus
I have RE Model G forks. which i am planning to rebuild forks for trials project.
the forks are bit pitted as you can see .. i dont want to spend money on chrome if possible.
do you think they will bleed , what if i just the smooth surface emery paper. please advise

They probably will leak a bit but how much?
If this is going to be a trials machine then it will do minimal mileage and the leak may be acceptable.

Hi, I think you mean will the forks leak oil if the stanchions are too rusty or worn where they pass the oil seals which are screwed on to the fork lowers (sliders). From your photos I can't see the part of the stanchion that passes through the oil seal so I cannot make a guess. You need to drop the stanchions out of the yokes and post a picture of the area I have described. The upper part which I can see doesn't look too bad which is a good sign.

Yes i was asking about oil leaks. I am bit confused my friend have offered me crusader forks.
but i like Prototype RE trials i think there were only 10 made in 1948 , i like the period looking style of handlebar etc

Sorry i am eating sentences . i mean to say Model G forks were used in Prototype RE trials .
