Hi All,

I imagine this subject has been done to death so forgive me if this is repeated but your help and knowledge would be greatly appreciated.

I am re-assembling a G2 350 1955 engine and am at the point of installing the crank and resealing the crankcases. The problem I have is with both thrust washers included in the assembly the crank is fouled and cannot move.

The timing side bush and roller bearing have all gone back in as expected - the roller bearing sits flush with inside of the casing.

The drive side bearings and spacer again are as expected.

The thrust washers are new from our hosts.

Any ideas / pointers gratefully received.

Thanks All.

Hi Dan, Assuming the crank assembly flywheels have been pressed fully home [if they have been separated, that is], perhaps you have the wrong thrust washers on the mainshafts, as there are crankpin thrust washers and a thrust washer that goes in the timing side main bearing aperture before the bearing is fitted. both of these are thicker - and larger than the correct ones, but could fit on the mainshafts. Regards, Paul.

Thanks Paul.

Do you (or anyone) know of a schematic diagram that shows the order of assembly on either side of the crank/flywheel assembly for this year / model?
