GT speedo problem

I have a new GT which has a queer problem, the trip meters and the total distance traveled keeps flashing on and off, I can not use either of the two trip meters. I live in The Philippines where you buy a new bike or car and after sales is bloody nill!!! Has anyone else had this problem, what do I need to fix it?

Until someone with more knowledge answers; I would look for a loose wire in the housing where they are mounted.

I've got a similar problem with my GT. Last winter the total distance and trip meters were stuck and the value kept defaulting to kilometres. The button that toggles between total distance and trip A & B didn't work either. It started working once the weather warmed up so I put it down to damp/condensation. This time the meter is stuck on trip A and pressing the button does nothing. I'm hoping it fixes itself now it's warmed up here in the U.K. Temperature presumably isn't an issue for you in the Philippines but I guess humidity could be causing it? John
