B5 mirrors, R/H or L/H thread?

I've removed the left-hand mirror from my 2013 B5 and found it had a normal right-hand thread. The right-hand mirror is very tight in its thread, and I wonder if some kind person can tell me if it is also a right-hand thread, before I give it some grunt and possibly tighten it even further or snap it off. I ask as my little Yamaha RS200 has differing threads on the mirrors, I think to prevent them unscrewing at speed and I wondered if the B5 has the same. Thanks in advance.

I have just fitted handguards to my electra x and the throttle side mirror has a left hand thread for the mirror

Look for little grooves cut on the corners of the nut, which are sometimes present to show left hand thread.

Thank you Gents, you are absolutely right on both counts. The nut does indeed have grooved corners, was left hand threaded, and it came undone with a bit of help from a rubber mallet on the spanner. It was extremely tight. I never knew about LH threaded nuts having these grooves, so I've learned something new today. Thanks again.

But be careful, they don't all have this!
