Any one fitted the 5 speed Right shift Conversion?
The : 90140 1 up 4 down..?

Q: Was it easy?

Q: is it Nice when done?

And I Presume the Indians use the Same 5 speed Box on there 350s as on The 500's AVL etc?

Yes I have done this conversion. If you want to keep the 1 up 4 down arrangement you have to change the cam plate. This makes the conversion much more difficult as you have to take out the gear cluster. I had to remove and replace the gear cluster quite a few times before I could select all of the gears. This would be much easier with the gearbox on the bench, I did it without removing the gearbox.

I bought a workshop manual which showed how to strip the gearbox, it would have been difficult without this.

If you use this gear arrangement you lose the neutral warning light, but this was no problem to me.

I'm very happy with the results. I can now jump from my Reddich Enfields to my 65 without worrying about the gear change.

This is Why I wanted to do it, I am ok mixing Jap Bikes & Enfields I My Mind set is different..But an Electra & a classic?? "Still Thinking about it"
