I'm trying to identify a spare Albion gearbox I have. It's the post 54 type, With HDY 757 stamped on it, and shaft length 8cm (314 inch). Is it Bullet or Twin? And any idea of year? Cheers, Chris.

Did you mean 31.4 inch or 3¼ inch?

According to the chart on the Interceptor Group website HDY is the code for a 1959 Super Meteor or 1958 Meteor Minor Standard and Deluxe. However, that doesn't mean someone hasn't swapped the internals over from a Bullet with a shorter mainshaft! I'll see if I can find a Twin gearbox to measure if you like?
