Good morning gents,

I have had what looks like small leak coming from the chan drive.

So at the weekend I decided to have a closer inspection by removing the right hand
Crank case cover. All was nice and clean the engine side but the amount of gunk
around the sprocket and kick start cover was shocking but I didnt notice any obvious
leak areas, my only thought would be the kick start seal?

My RE is electra efi on a 10 plate. Any suggestions would be appreciated before I

Could it just be chain lube that has accumulated around the front sprocket over the years. It's a bit of a trap in there. Also as the crankcase breather vents into the air box any oil that accumulates there drips down near the front sprocket. Mine is the same model and year and has always had some very slight oil mist along the joint with the right side cover. It only shows when the engine is mucky (i.e. it's normal state!) and never gets any worse, so I've not bothered to do anything about it.
