Hi all, haven't been on for a while ,hope everyone is still enjoying their RE's... ok so took the front brakes apart to check the linings, they have about 1.5mm to 2mm of meat left on them, I have a couple questions, should I change them now ? if not how much mileage do you think is left in them (lucky if I will put 500 miles on them this year), and how thick are new ones ? Cheers in advance, Bertie

Always erring on the side of caution, I would get new ones while it's all apart anyway.. If there's not much difference, you'll have reserve for when it's necessary.

Just my 2p...

Hi Bertie,I have just measured a new set I have for my electra x. The lining thickness is 4mm. As for how long they will last is really dependent on your riding style. For what a pair of shoes cost I wouldn't take a chance with brakes and replace them
