My 1991 350 currently has an bellmouth on the carburetor, have fitted a square air box purely for appearance. Given that the bellmouth lets the bike breathe very freely & that it runs absolutely perfectly. What sort of filtration (if any) would members be putting in the new air box?

I can't see it listed now but Mr H does a free flow filter to fit in the old type filter box. It was in the "news" section recently. I'd give him a ring.

Pete & Chris, this is the type of air filter box I have fitted. I was actually considering not having a filter at all, as the bellmouth that I have removed can have had little or no filtration qualities given the gauge of the gauze.

Hi, I had the same air box as in the Picture and fitted with the air filter supplied with the box , it ran fine until I changed the carb to a amal monobloc and goldie silencer supplied by our hosts .I then found that the tea caddy air box could not pass enough air. I now run it with a round type S&B filter but still like the look of the tea caddy so I may have a go at gutting it.cheers Pete

Some years ago I rode next to some roadworks and at the other end thought I'd never put that amount of gritty dust into my carb on purpose, so swore always to use some sort of filter. Perhaps it depends where you live....
