Can anybody help with the location of the bullet connector that the stray earth cable (grey/black) connects to that comes from the sidelight bulb of the headlamp of my 2002 Bullet. I removed the headlamp to upgrade the headlamp bulb and discovered a stray earth wire that I assume unattached itself as I removed the lamp. I'm at a loss to where it goes. If I turn on the ignition and switch on the sidelights nothing happens until I touch the cable to an earth so I assume that confirms it must be connected to an earth rather than left loose but I cannot find it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Think grey and black wire is the feed to the one of the tiger eyes, the side lamps on the cassette..

This should be live on when light switch on, the earth is the metal bulb holder/assembly when it is fitted in the cassette.

Side lamp - no idea
Do you mean the small bulb in the main headlamp shell, as that would have an earth wire. It connecte (from memory) into a 4 way connector with black wires, but check if there a space first.
if you have a meter, check for 0 ohm continuity between connector and bike frame.

This diagram in colour may be a bit earlier than your bullet, but still mostly correct...

Thanks Gwilly and Scalyback for your quick replies.

I may have not described the wire very well so perhaps a better description will help. It comes from a small bulb within the main headlamp unit. Three wires go to the main bulb and one of these loops to the small bulb. The wire in question then goes from the other side of the small bulb. With the ignition on and the lights switched to the first position (tiger eyes on) the small bulb will only light when I touch the loose end to earth (I have used the grey/black earth wire junction from the tiger eyes) but try as I might I cannot find any gaps/empty connectors where it might go. I will have another look for the 4 way connector and do the meter test.

Thanks again.
