Advice please ladies and gents. I've reluctantly had to give up Rudyard's (iron barrel bullet) garage. He will now be stored outside under a plastic type cover. I've used these before and find I get a year or two out of them, so fairly cost effective. The bike won't be totally laid up, as I like to get out for a ride whenever the weather is bearable. Has anyone any bright ideas for keeping him in good shape, yet ready for action on better days. Also does anyone think a more expensive canvas cover is worth the outlay?

Have a look under News to the left of these messages. I think the second one down is Winter Storage ... that'll start you off?

Also, type in Winter Storage or Winter Protection or something similar in the SEARCH box at the top right of the screen. Lots of ideas there.

Do you have room for one of the folding "pram hood" type covers? Friend of mine has one and finds it excellent.

If I was using a plastic cover would place old towels, linen any thing soft that draws the moisture away from between the plastic and metal

WD40 is around £21 for 5 litres from a well known auction site, A regular clean with WD40 will help to retard corrosion on a bike that is stored outside, A cover to keep the worst of the weather off is recommended.
