Single Iron military bullet seeks single seat for mutual riding pleasure.
or... Which is the better seat for looks/ride?

I have been looking at our hosts "single seat small" item 92505 with a view to replacing Tornado's standard double seat and possibly also getting the "small rack" item 92541/500 to fit between the pannier frames.





I was wondering what others thought about this seat, i.e. not too bouncy. I don't need to be doing the rising trot on my steed, as that was bad enough on huge ruddy army horse called Charlie Brown at Aldershot barracks. Never again! The 'orses also got four gears, walk, trot, canter and gallop.







It seems that Tornado has the correct bracket for the seat, YAY!
What have other guys done to their military bullets?

It's comfy and not too bouncy, but you are restricted to one position and can't shuffle about much. If your bike is in a damp environment then the springs don't last long and soon rust through, but the frame is solid and will last forever. I had one for 5 years and did 500 miles in one weekend once without too much butt ache, so I'd recommend one and I do think they make early framed/Indian bullets look better.

Thanks Chris, well the chrome ain't going to see the light of day. some acid etch and 118 humbrol enamel will sort that out.

Sorry Scaly, meant the horizontal springs under the sear cover, the ones that stop you falling through onto the frame. They are made of very thin wire and soon rust through and snap while your riding. The two big vertical chrome springs should last a lifetime

Can you get to them from underneath or are they all hidden?

Cover comes off in seconds to expose the springs.

And you just hook new ones on between the holes in the frame.
