Remembered some questions a while ago about lowering single saddles.

I've just been trying it today and here's the result.... almost done. Obviously it would get a proper bolt eventually rather than the rusty nail. I had to drill the bike-frame bracket for this; it's threaded on the other side. This would do the job of lowering the seat quite a lot more than the T fitting it comes with, and also seems firmer; the original T shaped piece appears somewhat wobbly even when bolted tight on the bike-frame bracket.

The springs look tortured on their (unfiled) brackets....

Not sure what the constant pressure on the bolts would either.

Anyway, thought it would be interesting to try

Hmmm.. not sure what to think. I can understand lowering the saddle but I think I'd try to do away with the springs... (?)
