Changing the silencer on a Continental GT

Hi

I'm a new Enfield owner and pretty inexperienced bike guy all in.

I'm interested in changing the stock exhaust silencer to something a bit shorter and more aggressive looking - something like "black chopper pot" slip on from classicbikeshop.co.uk - http://www.classicbikeshop.co.uk/black- ... ip-on.html

Given that it can attach to a 38mm or 45mm header pipe, will this fit on my Continental GT?

Anyway, great to be part of the Enfield community and looking forward to spending time in here!

Ronnie

Ronnie, if you select Accessory Shop from the left sidebar the first option that comes up is parts for the 535 GT. Our Hosts do a load of stuff for this model. You may not see exactly what you want but the catalogue should give you some ideas. Be aware that as these bikes have an ECU (ignition computer) changing some things can upset carburation. Our Hosts are very helpful so if you call them I'm sure they will tell you honestly whether they think your plan will work or not. They have extensively dyno tested this model so really know what they are talking about.

mnbrwn do your research first before you part with your hard earned. The fuelling on an RE can be adversely affected by slipping just any old silencer on to the down pipe and the ECU may well have to be remapped - for which read EXPENSE. The best thing to do is to telephone our hosts who are very knowledgeable and helpful and you may rely on their advice for sure.
