If I had a pound for every time I've left the indicators on I'd be rich by now!

Anyway, the other week I did it again and this time it was quite dangerous!

Having looked at the price of fancy systems which cost lots of pennies (I had one once and it didn't last long) I decided I'd make my own (I like making things myself
and you usually learn something along the way)

My indicators have a special warning system, they start to ache if you leave them on too long! Arch

I managed to find a flasher unit with a buzzer inbuilt. Solved the problem very simply for me. Although I had to locate it behind the headlight as when it was under me I didn't hear it at speed.

For an extra feature you could add a delay timer such as this ready made item: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MINI-SMD-TIME ... 362b5....I reckon something like 15-20 secs would seem useful as one isn't going to forget to cancel every time you use the indicators...just a reminder if you do.

great idea peter ,we have a member in our club who has a buzzer fitted but he still leaves the indicators on due to wearing ear plugs and not being able to hear the buzzer!!! doh

I bought a buzzer from RS Components for about three quid!!
They do various ones from about 85 decibels to 95 decibels and I can even hear it above our hosts free-flowing Indian silencer!
Just the job!

Hi Guys--------yes, we've all done it at some time or the other, eh ?? Here's an idea to try and it won't cost you too much either---guaranteed to work as well. Attach a repeater lamp on the handlebars. Not one of those ordinary Lucas items--good though they are---- I mean one of the FULL SIZE ones, and aimed at your face !!!.so it's literally "in your face" during daytime, and at night you get that eerie, etheral, ghoulish glow that should scare-off the other traffic.
