If it's a 1960s 250, no. If it's a 2010s 535, no. As ever, the more information you give, the better someone can help. Probably!

As I said in my previous reply, no it wouldn't originally have had one. What does it look like? Lucas QD connectors were offered at the time but are fairly large pressed steel shells with rubber covers, and of course, a previous owner might have added something else entirely. There is a special group for Crusaders at https://beta.groups.yahoo.com/neo/group ... group/info if you want to ask there, someone might have seen this?

the is a round socket on the back of the headlamp shell , I'm told its correct by some and not by others , I have the option to fit standard head light so would like to be clear as to which is correct , was it a optional extra ?

Officially there were no optional extras for the GT except for the Speedflow fairing. Some 250 variants had a plug and socket, notably the Trials versions but these are not well known. I'd do it without, the original plugs and sockets don't wear well and could cause potential wiring problems in future. No, don't thank me.

Can you post a picture or a link to pictures? That would really help. Do you have any info on the bike, the REOC will do a quick dating enquiry for you if you're not a member. Some very early GTs (probably only 100) had some unusual features. I don't think the plug and socket were part of it but you never know. Look at the Yahoo Group, there are some real GT anoraks there!

Well I did some research among the guys on the Crusader Group that I posted the link to and it seems the QD headlamp plug was an original fitment. However, it does not appear in the Parts Book for the GT. It seems to have been fitted for the 1965 model year only judging by the ones that have survived. My 1966 doesn't have it, nor do any of the other 1966 models we found. The guys that do have them thought theirs must be the odd ones out! Wetdog, thanks for bringing that up, you learn something new every day!
