Anyone with an Avon fairing care to give any comments? How is it in windy conditions? Does the rider experience a lot of buffeting? It looks aerodynamic but does fuel mileage go down running it?

Thanks
Walt

Can you be more specific please? Are we talking 1950s handlebar type, 1960s full fairing or something from our Hosts's catalogue?

I once acquired a 500cc Bullet (India) With a 50s Avon (Handle Bar) Faring on..That my Kids christened "PINGU" (Stop and think? ;0).. Right..I noticed No Bad Effects with this Fairing...Weather protection was Good, Perhaps a Slightly Nosier engine as with most fairings, I thought it looked Nice from the Front & Bad from the Back,,But it was well made survived a crash and no bad thoughts (Glad I tried one),,I sold the bike to a to a mate who Promptly Dunped the fairing , he hated it.. My Verdict..Well I like "TRI_Screens", If a Bike Came with a "50s Avon" I would leave it on and Enjoy (You do need to move your head lamp though and extend its wiring a bit)..Would I buy New?? "I preffer the TRI_Screen"..All IMHO of Corse...But give it a go, 8 out of 10 ;0)

As it happens I've just fitted the Givi Windshield (part number 200315) to my Mk 2 Interceptor and very nice it is too. The high US handlebars on the S2 make cruising at anything over 55 hard work and the screen really helps. I did 100 miles on Sunday in mixed conditions including some quite windy weather and handling wasn't affected at all. The Avon is a similar shape so I imagine it will be very similar in use. Incidentally I didn't buy my screen from our Hosts, it was a gift from a workmate who wasn't using it so I put it in the garage loft ages ago and only found it last week when looking for something else. Thanks for the pressie Richard!
