2004 Bullet 500 4 speed RH kickstart

From what I can make out from a few wiring diagrams, although my switch has 4 connections there are really only 3 'connections', 2 of the 4 being connected to +12V - is this correct? I could get the multimeter out, but it's late...

It is a two pole double-throw switch; one normally open, one normally closed. One pair makes the power circuit, while the other opens the 'kill' circuit.

Thanks Tim - Double Pole, Double Throw would have 6 terminals, my switch has 4. I'll look out the meter this evening and see if I can answer my own question.
