Not long if its a spoked wheel. Stuff it with grass, much better!

Does this mean we now need to carry garden shears along with all the other bits of emergency kit? (Tongue in cheek.) Having said that, I do believe there's a pair of scissors on my Swiss Army knife.

To answer the question, about 5 mins or 5 yards whichever comes first :)

Any puncture sealant product can only be a get you home fix, for your own safety Replace the inner tube ASAP. I always use in my tyres a product called GOOP, this product is installed into an inner tube permanently and hopefully stops any sudden deflation, but if I found any thing sharp thru my tyre, I would replace the inner tube immediately.

Those "repair" kits are to get to you the nearest garage at no more than 50 miles an hour.

I used the stuff years ago when I rode round on a Honda... I must have been running on the stuff for about a year or two before I changed the tube... I remember it was a nail in the tyre that did it. I removed the nail, squirted the goop in and inflated the tyre. It took two seconds to fix the leak and I forgot all about it....

If this is the stuff - http://www.bullseyecarparts.co.uk/categ ... sol-300-ml
then you really should read the words - "Only designed for temporary use in an emergency, As soon as possible take the tyre to be repaired or replaced."
As the stuff is for cars ie tubeless tyres, then perhaps you are talking of a car rather than a tubed Enfield tyre?

The goo certainly works on push bike inner tubes but adds a fair bit to the rolling weight of the tyre on them. And so we replace the tube as soon as. Given the difficulty of removing a tyre, usual method is give the job to a bike workshop with a tyre machine.
