I am about to start on a project to make and fit a right hand side stand to my Electra X (ish.
This is due to increasing problems with my left leg, meaning left side mounting of the bike is getting next to impossible.
I will let you know how I get on. It may take some time.

Some competition BSA's had right hand prop stands - the C15T for certain. I was told it was to make restarting after a fall or stall easier, but I don't know if that was the real reason. Maybe such a stand could be grafted on here? Regards, Paul.

I have a right hand side stand on my trials Bullet/Crusader. The first thing you will notice is that there is no oil sealing on the clutch pushrod, and you will leave a small puddle everywhere you park it.

Different design with the five speed gearbox on the Electra-X (with or without the -ish!), I think it should all be neatly contained... A.

I am going to modify a left hand side stand into a right hand one. It means turning the stand part around on the pivot, and cutting the mount and reversing it and repositioning the spring "pin."
I will probably have to make a 1/4inch thick mounting plate to clear the rear brake lever. I also have the possibility of attaching the side stand to the engine "bash plate," protector.

Cheap side stand just arrived by post. Having measured it and marked it out, I will attack it with a cutting disc in my angle grinder tomorrow. The holes in the bracket lines up with the right hand foot rest mount and the centre stand pivot.
It looks as if to clear the brake pedal and the exhaust I will have to move the side stand mount to the rear by 2 inches. (Careful positioning before welding it onto the bracket.)

Hi papasmurf, if you have trouble with that stand, the other type that fits off the rear footrest/subframe mount might be a easier to modify it also sits higher when retracted. Vince.

If plan A doesn't work, making a mounting plate to do as you suggest is plan B. (There is a grease nipple in the way that would requires "notch" cutting in the DIY mounting plate to clear it.
Currently however Plan A is still a runner, unless there are problems clearing the rear brake pedal.
