I've been doing some calculation. Riding town and country, I get around 75 MpG. I have nothing to compare with, so what's the concensus? Good? Not bad? Or is it too little? (2003 bullet 500..)

That doesn't sound at all bad for the classic engine. I gather the Electra-X with the original CV Carb gets even better mileages, though I only ever ran man with a Dell'Orto PHF32 or a Mikuni TM36-31, both of which have accelerator pumps.
I can't speak for our friends with more recent EFI models, though I expect we shall hear from them shortly!

It sounds very typical to me, Ive had similar figures from both my 350 Bullet and my V50 Guzzi. I had a friend who rode a 250 four cylinder Suzuki from Melbourne to Adelaide and was interested to discover that driving along at around 65-70 mph with his body weight resulted in around 55mpg much the same as he got on a long journey on his Ducati 900 Bevel. The message is the faster you go the more you use and there is a certain cost to pulling your body along the road.

I reckon on about 75 - 80 mpg from my Electra EFI - But of course that's calculated from the speedo reading,,,,,, and I don't think the speedo is very accurate, so who knows?

As long as your wheels and tyres are standard the odometer should be reasonably accurate. Its a direct driven device unlike the speedo which is a magnet driven tool and a bit like a stopped clock probably only accurate at stationary and one other point.

I get 90mpg out of my Electra X(ish) but I don't take it over 50mph.

If you're interested in tracking yours or seeing how others are doing there's always Fuelly .com - Here are my results over 12,500 miles, an overall average of 92.7

Almost never use the bike around town and have only measured fuel consumption three times, got 82, 84 & 88mpg. These were all quite a while ago, I've now done over 2000 miles and probably use a bit more revs than previously, will maybe measure again soon.
