Constellation Ignition Timing

I'm in the process of attempting to set the ignition timing on my 1959 Constellation with Lucas K2F Magneto. Having followed the workshop manual, which appears rather vague. Both spark plugs sparking, but unfortunately will not start. Do the points face up or down while setting the timing, and does it matter which side of cylinder the plug leads are configured ?

Hi Patchy-man.
did swapping the leads get it sorted ? Make sure when you are timing it you want to be fully advanced by turning the adv/retard lever towards you so it is pulling the cable tight, ( that's if it is a Manual mag ) and make sure the the cylinder you are timing it on usually the left is on the compression stroke i:e piston at top dead centre with both valves closed .
Dont forget to reply to this thread so we know if your sorted or not as some one else may come up with some thing
