1934 Model X struggling to find any information for this machine, anyone got anything? Particularly would like to know about the carb as it obviously has the wrong one sort of fitted, never going to work.

Join the REOC and delve into their extensive archives or do the same with the VMCC. Or contact Amal direct. Easy.

Thanks M, already making inquiries, was hoping this might be quicker and even find another - supposedly very few around.

I have discovered that there is a group for K and KX Owners and I might be able to introduce you to someone with 2 KXs if you send me an email address. I'd rather do this off board so the chap in question can maintain his privacy!

Thanks Mark, this is a Model X - 148cc twin port 2 stroke, rather a different beast.

The Model X is very rare - I think it was only made for one year in 1934. The attraction was the 15 shillings a year road tax - half that of a 250cc. I have never seen one in the metal and only have a picture in the 1934 catalogue. I believe it may have had the same engine as the Model Z Cycar which was, I think, a Villiers unit. The catalogue is not very helpful about the carb. - it just says "two lever". If you need a scan from the catalogue, I can help out, otherwise the best source of information is likely to be a Model Z owner. There is one in running conditon owned by a member of the Dutch Royal Enfield Club - he rode it at the International Rally in Norfolk some years ago.
