Can anyone help identify / give me more info on this engine?

It's a side-valve sloper-style with sump and I think it's 500cc (haven't removed the head to check).
Just came my way with some other bits I bought.
The engine number is: LC8777

I wonder if it could be an early thirties model B.
250 side valve..

It's a Model L from 1932, a 500 s/v. It seems to be the only year this type of engine was built. During the 30s Enfield were constantly experimenting, this engine looks quite pretty. Good find!

Yes Marks right, Model L 500cc.
Think they made a 570cc as well, darn confusing those early models, well to me anyway..
Have you got a frame or forks, interesting..

thanks for your help ,unfortunatly only have engine ,just got to decide what to do with it now ,will probaly upset a few people but would make a lovely simple custom ,or spend the rest of my life ,and all my money ,trying to get it back to original
