The casquette needs removing for painting from my 1957 350cc Bullet. Could I have advice on how to do it? Reading Booker's book on Enfields not sure if I need to remove the forks and road wheel etc or just the steering top nut and fork screw head bolts on either side of teh casquette. I can understand the electrics as I rewired the bike so its the nuts and bolts bit I am lost with. I am not an expert so any advice in the most detail possible greatly appreciated as I can be very dull when it comes to mechanical bits. Regards one and all and thanks in advance. Hugh

Hugh, You need to remove front wheel, fender, handlebars, loosen lower triple clamp bolts, unscrew cap bolts from top of casquette above tubes, insert hex wrench and unthread tubes, loosen upper pinch bolt at rear of casquette and then remove upper triple nut.Have something beneath on ground to catch any runaway ball bearings. Thanks to everyone who looked and the posted comment. I thought it would be a long job and maybe beyond me. Trust the weather will change soon for the better and we see some sun. Hugh
