Of course it is possible? But unless you are a panel beater, or you are married to one, don't go their...

Far easier to buy something; lots of options out there and a lot less grief.

Looking at your photo that seems to be one of the Indian after market 22 litre tanks, the standard Indian Bullet tank is I think around 14 litres, why not just try one of those?

Otherwise our hosts sell a range of smaller tanks, eg the alloy trials tank, the 2.5 gallon Interceptor export or the small chrome panel tanks. Our Indian friends also sell slim-line Bullet tanks on fleabay if none of our hosts' offerings float your boat.

Anything is possible but this is a very skilled job. It would probably cost as much to have this done as have a new one made.
Much cheaper to buy one off the shelf.

Custom tanks are usually soldered - because it doesn't buckle the metal or blow holes in the sheet with an arc welding rod. Not electrical solder, either tinsmith or hard solder. My old dad was apprenticed as a sheet metal beater before he became a master-toolmaker; he would have found it difficult. Between me and him we could probably solder anything to anything, try aluminium to sapphire; but doing a tank is difficult. Is that a Thunderbird tank? No really, buy one the right size, it's a lot cheaper.
