Another Oil Pump Thread...

I've owned my 500 Classic from new in 2007. It's only done 4000 miles or so. I had a look at the oil pumps a while ago and all seems fine - no wear to spindle was evident.
Recently, until the engine is warm, the right footrest vibrates - almost feeling like pins and needles in my foot. After a couple of miles this settles down, and there is no untoward vibration.
When the head banjo union is loosened, plenty of oil flow evident.
Does this right sided vibration with a cold engine sound oil pump related? Has any one else experienced this?
How might a failing oil pump manifest itself - other than via a knackered crank?
Thanks folks !
