Guys,
On the exhaust side of the engine there are two bolts at the top on the side of each head ,
These are connected to a Y Shape metal tubing that goes down into the crank case , what is this for also one of my bolts is weeping oil does it need a gasket each side of the bolt that screws into the engine head holding the Y SHAPE tube in.
Confused with that me too.
Any help appreciated.
Regards

This is the oil feed to the rockers. Hitchcocks do a modern Dowty washer (steel/rubber) that will eliminate any weeps here. You will need 4, one either side of the banjo. Do not overtighten the feed bolts, as they are hollow they are easy to snap! I think you need to bring this bike to the next Club night and I'll talk you through it!

Mark M ,
Thanks very much unfortunately I have to work every Wednesday till 10 pm as I run a boxing club in Paddington where I work as a Policeman.
I live in hitchin and think your not too far I could ride out when your free and meet for a cuppa and you could take me through it.
This is my first British classic so would love to get to know it inside out as I will be keeping this for as long as I can ride I hope.
Thanks Mark
Paul

As MarkM says, don’t overtighten because the bolts are hollow. But also hold the pipe flange as you tighten the bolts otherwise the weak copper pipe joint in the flange will bend, eventually cracking and leaking. Whilst the tube may look like stainless steel, it has only been painted silver to fool you, it is actually copper and the junction between tube and flange is weak. And since that is the only feed to the rockers and valve stems, a leakage can be cause BAD tidings. ChrisD from Cape Town

I intended to post some, hopefully, helpful comment here but it ended up on Reds original post that I had used to check what model he had. Must be more careful!
