Hi!
After standing 18 months in the garage I planned for a ride on my 1951 Model G. But I cant get it to start... It was a bit tricky to start the last times I rode it and have not answered very good on revving so I thought I needed to check the ignition. There is fuel in the tank, spark from the plug and compression. I have checked the breaker gap, replaced the plug and adjusted the valves.
Can it be the carburettor?

Any ideas??

Hello Quilty, the first thing I'd do is, after a small kickstarting session, is to see how is the sparkling plug: wet, you have to see the ignition, dry, something faulty around the carb. Hope it isn't the condenser. Claude

Fresh fuel might be a good idea, plus checking the fuel system is not blocked or restricted in any way.

Hello Quilty,
If it is the ignition that is suspected, before dismantling everything, first have a look at the earth brush on the magdyno (magneto) and its slip ring, it is a bit hided, and oftenly forgotten.. The same with the HT colector's one.
Hope it will help you
