The Bullet 65 is happy, singing like it's 21 again. Many thanks for the plethera of replies the original post generated. The answer was in the carb; (simple but true)fundimentally fuel starvation. I adjusted the float height from the standard 28-30, down to 22. This has allowed plenty of reserve fuel when a lot of sucking is going on. ALSO, the timing; I reset to standard, then gradually reduced the auto advance to about 20 degrees, from standard 32. Also fitted a cooler plug --NGK7. Whether these adjusts are all that could be done, I'll never know really. All that matters is that this engine likes it, and it works! A pleasure, in fact a real thrill to ride. Cheers. Now both bikes are running sweet, I've nothing to tinker with! dangerous or what?
