seat help wanted, again!

hi all.. if any of you have followed my story re the uncomfy rear seat of my 2015 model Classic 500, my trials today have involved an 'airhawk' inflated seat cover. Whilst this worked well yesterday for a 7 mile ride, todays 35 miler found it wanting, so back to the drawing board. i think the main problem is that the seat is so narrow, and the mrs overhangs it a fiar bit! so.. 2 hours of bodging has seen me make to temp brackets that mount onto the rear seat subframe to pick up the springs of the FRONT seat. i still have to make a central mount, but it got dark... this LOOKS like it will work, hence we will have two front seats, which i think will look ok.

getting to the point, has ANYONE got a classic front seat that i could borrow / rent for a 2 week trial period, before i go to the expense of buying a new one? i;d be willing to pay postage, post a cheque etc to pay for a new one if i dont return it etc. please let me know? i live in Notts if anyone is near. thanks in anticipation! phil and helen.

Phil, if you don't want the Airhawk seat I'm interested in buying it. I need one for the seat on my Hitchcock's GT cafe-racer, so that my backside will survive a 1,200 mile round-trip to compete in a Danish sprint event. I'm hoping to better my previous third-place trophy.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SHZuv8PU94o

(Hitchcock's don't currently supply anything similar.)

Martin, that's a great video (the one that follows the spark plug installation) of your run up the strip, I hear you have the slick gearchanges nailed!

Hi Mark, successful gear changes are thanks to a Hitchcock's 5-speed gearbox conversion and belt-drive clutch! BTW, I really did ride the bike home on the trophy's KLG sparkplug.

Unfortunately, there is no longer any passenger ferry service to Denmark, so it's a long ride via Holland and Germany, and although my Bullet can cruise at a genuine 75-80 mph I'll be avoiding the autobahns (we used them the previous year 2-up on my Ducati ST4, and if you're holding merely a steady 110-120 mph there is a queue of panzerwagens just behind your numberplate, all wanting to do 130+).

FINALLY SORTED! this picture shows front seat mounted on the back. final version will not be so tilted forwards. and it wont have that little 'hump' at the front as the seat on showing is my front seat which has been rebuilt and reshaped with gel inserts. I'm thinking of a nice leather tool roll hanging off the back to fill in the space a little. brqackets were a fiddle, but now I have the correct locations I can make neat ones.

That's the wrong type of link, copy and paste paste the HTML code from the Tinypics site. The code you posted works in other forums but NOT on this one! A.
