Could someone explain to me how to find the "fastest idle method" works.
Thanks.

In relation to what? Mixture, timing?

Technical notes in the menu on the left, then Carburettors, adjusting the idle is nearly at the bottom. If this is of any assistance.

As you can get a cheap electronic reencounter these days (Ebay) it's worth getting one for this, even if you just attach it temporarily.

Being paranoid I immediately thought they were talking about me again when I saw the subject title

PeteF, I agree I got an electronic rev counter for £13 off of ebay, and the three wires would only need a small connecter block to use as and when needed.

• Adjust the throttle stop screw so the engine runs at a fast tick-over, say about 20%
above the idle speed you wish to achieve
• Unscrew the pilot air screw to increase the engine speed to its fastest possible.
• Gradually unscrew the throttle stop screw to reduce engine speed to the target idle
speed
,BR>
• Again unscrew the pilot air screw to increase engine to the highest tick-over possible
• Finally, gradually unscrew the throttle stop screw to reduce engine speed to the correct idle speed.
(Usually this process carried out twice – as described – will be sufficient to achieve a correct tick-over.)
NB – sequence: pilot air screw out = fast; throttle stop screw out = slow
All from article as per Leon has directed

How does a rev counter help?
