Hi all, although Bertie's points system has only failed once in the years I've owned him I fancy treating him to a Boyer kit, what I want to know is, is the Boyer system really that much better and why, and are there any problems with it, also what is the best one?? Thanks in advance

Hi Bertie, I would leave the points alone, if they are present and correct. I would only buy a Boyer if all the points and other associated components were missing or totally shot, as the cost would be about the same either way. Remember, you also need a good battery for a Boyer - my Indian Bullets will kick start with flat batteries on their points ignition systems. Regards, Paul.

Well, I'm no genius with electrics, but I fitted a Boyer electronic ignition with no problems. Once you have it set up, it's virtually problem free forever..
You can read all about it
