U.C.E. CLUTCH HOUSING - WHAT OIL?

Hi All,
I've got a small question, [well, perhaps two] concerning this. I need to replace the clutch cover gasket on my 2013 G5 and see that our hosts in their Technical Notes recommend A.T.F. for the four speed pre-unit clutches. Does anybody know if this recommendation still stands good for the later generation models such as mine or should I simply use engine oil Sadly the workshop manual is little help.
Now the second part of this question: As Eicher in their wisdom decided that installing a small level plug at the bottom of U.C.E. covers was an unnecessary expense, does anybody know just how much of whatever 'lube to put in?? It's just that I'd like to get it right, measuring just how much come out whilst allowing for any spills or lost 'blobs' is not that easy and I don't want to over or under fill.
Cheers all, Ray

There are no separate oils in your engine. Everything is lubricated by the engine oil.

Hi Pete. Thanks for your comment about this. I indeed I also first assumed that as you say, all lube to that area was taken care of by the engine oil. However a couple of online mentions about U.C.E. clutch or other work show or mention the adding of a 'small' amount of oil etc. Clearly this is done once the cover is back on, through the large 'blanking plug' hole where the cover pull off 'T' tool fits.

To put it simply I'm just wondering if doing so necessary - or is it simply a 'belt and braces' approach in hopefully replacing the very small amount that was lost by cover removal!
Cheers, R

The workshop manual says to add 0.25litres through the left hand crank case cover.

Yes it does. That is what I do when I carry out an oil change, putting the remainder in the main filler. Each compartment is linked, which is why checking the level can be difficult. Please don't anyone start on that again.....

Thanks guys, my question answered.
Do'h!! I must be going blind as I've managed to miss completely that 'what to do' mention in my workshop manual. I'll have another line by line search tonight and splash some highlighter on it!!

There are a couple of manuals about, but my 2010 Export version lists the info in section 04-2, page 53.

Hi Ric, I didn't get a chance for a 'proper' dive into my Workshop Manual last night but will do so when I get home this p.m. Many thanks for looking up section/page for me - much appreciated. Talk about 'the non so blind as those that can see', it must be the 40 degree plus summer sun 'down' here in Perth, West Oz that 'helped' me miss it.
Cheers, R
