If by turn out you mean slash cut, my wife is barred from having those on her motorcycles because they leave a two mile wide track of noise.

We could hear my mate's Metisse leaving Eton Wick, crossing Dorney Common and howling down to the Bath Road. That would be the best part of three miles away and the other side of the M4 motorway. If you want to know what that sounds like, take the baffles out of your free-flow ;-)

When my wife first had the CX500 as a solo machine it has slash cuts fitted, and this being a very quiet rural area, I could hear her coming home from working a nightshift from over 5 miles away.
When I fitted a sidecar to it, just one trip with me sat in the sidecar and the slash cuts were removed.

Hi all, I quite liked the look of them but don't think I will bother with one now. I think I will just paint the old one to tidy it up because its structurally sound

Spend about £7 in Halfords on an exhaust trim and you could end up with your stock exhaust looking like this with no extra noise involved...

I think ric's Electra had the Briteuro(?) silencer the Watsonian-Squire used to offer, that tail piece was confusing me. A.

You're right. I now remember that it didn't come with that exhaust fitted when new but it was an after market option from WS. It came as standard on the Sixty-Five if I recall correctly.
